Our
surfaces

Depending on the requirements, geometry and area of application, our electroplating experts use feasibility analysis to determine the best process for full strip plating or plating of pre-stamped strips. Our focus is on high precision and sustainable quality.

Au Gold

Advantages:

  • high resistance to tarnishing and corrosion
  • good electrical conductivity
  • low contact resistance

Disadvantages:

  • high density with 19.3 g/cm³
  • high precious metal price
Ag Silver

Advantages:

  • very good electrical conductivity
  • density = 10.5 g/cm³
  • hardness = 80 to 120 HV
  • low price

Disadvantages:

  • black colouration after storage for a longer time
  • reduction in hardness from 90 to 100 HV with longer storage
  • temperature stability Ni + Ag (system) max. 160° C
Ni Nickel

Advantages:

  • application as corrosion protection and barrier layer
  • relatively high hardness results in less wear
  • 400 HV Ni matt up to 550 HV Ni semi-gloss

Disadvantages:

  • less used as contact material due to relatively high contact resistance
  • possible formation of cracks after coining or bending operations, can be reduced through use of nickel without additives
Sn Tinn

Advantages:

  • prevents oxidation of base materials
  • solderability and electrical characteristics maintained
  • hardness = Sn matt 8 to 10 HV / Sn gloss 18 to 25 HV

Disadvantages:

  • low hardness results in high insertion force
  • whisker formation from pure tin layers
  • Ni / Au / Sn

Intelligent plating
line management

Measures to ensure reproducibility of the plating line settings

  • electrical height adjustment
  • contact-free flow rate measurement
  • partial visualisation
  • dosing station for dosing of organic material acc. to Ah stipulation to enable a consistent level of organic material

Quality and reliability

  • heating achieved using heat exchanger
  • level monitoring of process tanks via electrical sensors
  • compressed air generation acc. to class 1.4.1 for a process with the highest quality (certified by the TÜV safety agency)
  • water-cooled rectifiers enable a low risk of failure

Vision control

  • Camera inspection station positioned at the end of the plating line
  • 2D contour inspection using transmitted light
  • Tolerance +/- 0.03 mm
